Best For
- High-volume HVAC contractors — crews running multiple duct jobs simultaneously who need a deep supply of self-drilling screws across all four sizes without mid-job restocking
- Metal building erectors — wall panels, roof sheeting, trim, and structural attachments on steel-framed construction where tek screw consumption is high
- Fabrication shops — sheet metal fab operations where tek screws are a daily consumable across multiple product lines or customer jobs
- Roofing and siding contractors — production-volume installation of metal roofing and steel siding where 250 pieces runs out before a job is done
- Service fleets and multi-truck operations — stocking each truck or service van with a full bin means fewer callbacks to the shop for more screws
For lighter-volume use or a first purchase, see the 250-Piece Hex Washer Tek Screw Assortment — the same four sizes in a smaller, lower-commitment starting quantity.
About Tek Screws
A tek screw (also called a self-drilling screw) combines a drill point and a thread-forming body in one fastener. The drill point bores through the material, the shank taps the thread, and the head seats — all in a single driving operation, without a pre-drilled pilot hole. In sheet metal and light steel applications, this eliminates a step and significantly speeds up installation.
The hex washer head configuration is the standard choice for professional applications. The washer face spreads the clamping load to reduce pull-through on thinner material, and the hex drive is compatible with standard nut drivers, socket sets, and hex-tip impact drivers — no cam-out, no stripped heads.
The #8 through #14 range is calibrated for the most common commercial and industrial sheet metal thicknesses. Larger point numbers indicate a larger screw body and a heavier-duty self-drilling tip — #14 is the right choice for thicker gauge steel and heavier panels where a #8 or #10 would bind.
